Digital History at Carleton

DH@CWorks is built to facilitate networking between Carleton University students and external partners in the field of digital history. Using WordPress, Buddypress, bbPress, Scholarware and a few custom plugins, dhcworks.carleton.ca provides an easy to use environment that both protects students’ personal information while allowing collaborative work with external professionals. Scholarware, a Buddypress plugin provides an LMS environment that allows more collaborative control than WebCT (Blackboard) or Moodle.

A custom WordPress plugin ties functionality with Omeka – a separate CMS with a concentration exhibiting digital collections. Students have the option of pushing content from their personal site to the network home front page without duplicating posts. Activity feeds keep professors aware of which students are active and how.

This site was attacked and brought offline. An attempt to bring it back online was made by someone (not me obviously) and it’s been in disarray since =(
